Giveaway! :)

I was going to wait until this afternoon to post this however I just couldn't sleep without posting it first!

I'm so excited to start my first ever giveaway and I have a wonderful Etsy seller, Anne Potter, to share with you and all the wonderful things at her Etsy shop, Hand Made By Anne Potter.

Here's a little more about her, in her own words...
Monogram Pillow... perfect wedding or anniversary gift!

My name is Anne Potter. I am a stay-at-home mom to five children (ages 15,10,8,2,2). My husband and I are both from the Chicago area, but now we live next to cornfields in downstate Illinois. I have a degree in English from the University of Illinois, but I haven't wanted to read a book since I graduated. I have been "making things" for as long as I can remember. I love to work with lots of different media. I love to knit, crochet, sew, quilt, bead, even paper, so my shop is full of jewelry, accessories, home decor and holiday pieces. Inspired by vintage and second-hand materials, I use as much recycled materials as possible. Sometimes I am inspired first by a material (vintage seam binding, or great jewelry findings) and create a piece based on these items. Other times, I have a project in mind, and try to create the piece using materials on hand. My inspiration comes from lots of different sources: I love travel, foreign cultures, nature (trite, but true!) and fashion. I love doing what I do, because I can't NOT make things, but my etsy shop allows me the creative outlet I crave without taking anything away from raising my children. Come bedtime, I pour a glass of wine and knit or bead while watching a travel show on TV.

Snow Day!

Woke up early today to work on homework before two test tonight in my two classes. Although when I looked out our patio door the weather seemed to portray a different scenario, I would not be going to class tonight or rather I would not be going anywhere. Luckily Alex doesnt have to go into work until 5 so this snow day has been filled with extra time spend with my hubby! Making spaghetti for lunch because well we have nothing else to make in our house. I knew going to the grocery only when I needed something was going to catch up to me. I guess I need to start planning ahead a little bit, but on the other hand atleast everything I make is fresh. Chicken Picante w/ brown rice and homemade bread is better with fresh ingredients than with stuff bought a week prior... so maybe I'll just watch the weather and prepare for snow days by buying a few extra items for meals. I have been cooking a lot lately, which has been healthier and easier on the wallet. Its been nice spending the extra time with my love as well!

To everyone else who has a snow day.... ENJOY! :)
